Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in the city of Decatur, Illinois. She and LeAnnekymes were among the newest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss is an American bluegrass and country musician. She was born on July 23, 1971. She was a teenager when she first entered the music scene, having won local contests at the age of 10 old and recording her first album when she was fourteen years of age. In 1985, she enrolled with Rounder Records and in 1987 she released her first solo album. She was a part of the group whom she performs, Alison Krauss Union Station. They released their first album in 1989.
